I’m from Cowirra, South Australia. It is a small town located in the Murraylands along the Murray River. It’s a large tourist destination and has significant agricultural produce predominantly in sheep, cropping and beef cattle.

I was raised on a dairy farm which converted to beef cattle when I was 12 years old. We were heavily raised to be involved in our community which was focussed on SA Country Shows.

I am the immediate past President of the Mannum Show Society after being a Vice President for four years. I was also on the SA Next Generation Committee chairing the boots and black tie ball subcommittee as well as being heavily involved with the Young Farmers Challenge.

2019 was my first year competing after exhibiting poultry since I was a young child. My father is a qualified poultry judge and has been for quite a while which was why I got involved.

My favourite show in Australia is Parndana Show in Kangaroo Island. It is one of the smallest shows you may ever attend. The remarkable thing about this show is the community spirit and the incredible team that put on a display each year. They also run a young farmers challenge for kids which usually has about 10 teams enter.

My best show moment was at the Strathalbyn Show when my 10 year old sister and I both ended up with ribbons in our handler classes for the beef cattle. It was nice to see that as the ages go on we still can influence our younger ages.

My most embarrassing show moment was when the cow moved and took the hose away and saturated me in my clothes that were ready for parading.
